I'm going to put this blog on the back burner until the weather gets worse. Time to enjoy the summer!
So I've spent 100 days working on my link directory. It's been a lot of work. I had about 160 links before I started this blog and now I have 877. My visitor count when I started the blog was 16, 415 and now it is 9000 more, and I can see from my logs that a lot of those 9000 visitors came from my shiny new links, and will likely continue to do so for some years.

I had another person asking for a link from a good site and putting my link on a junk page from another site again. Guess I need to write something on my main link directory page to say that the reciprocal link should be on the same site.

Yesterday and today I've been trying to flesh out my directory - some pages only have one link on them so I am specifically looking for suitable links for those pages.

I created a new page today for sites who's main product was jewelry boxes. I have a few jewelry box sites as link partners and they are here and there all over my directory. Not so good if that is what one of my visitors is looking for once they have finished looking at my site.

I didn't move the existing ones over. I think I want to get the structure in place, have hopefully all the categories I think my visitors will be interested in and then go through the old pages page by page and move what should be moved around to sort things out properly.

When I logged in this morning there were 3 emails from people who had filled in my online form to say they would like to exchange links with me.
I think the same person may have filled in all three forms, though the emails were all different.
I look at the first site. Nice jewelry site, but I can't find a links page - I always start at the home page to check out whether it would be likely that one of their guests would find the links page and find my site if that was what interested them.
Then I check the form. The link they had placed to me was on a different site. A site just with pages of links labelled 1 2 3 etc.
Well, no thankyou! I delete that email and read the next one. Same thing!
Delete that email.
The third email is from the site where my link was on the second site asking for a link exchange.
Delete!

I'm still getting into the swing of things after my holiday. I put up a pile of new pages on magnetic dots today and I have a pile more just about ready to go up, so I didn't spend a lot of time on exchanging links. Hopefully by next weekend I'll be caught up with my site's backlog and can concentrate more on this. I think my directory is beginning to take shape nicely. It's beginning to be a good resource for visitors to my site once they have done everything they want to do there.

I added another new page to my website for things vegetarian - I met a lot of vegetarians while I was away and I decided that it was a subject that needed it's own page at dragonstonemagnetics.com/links/vegetarianresources.htm
There are already some existing vegetarian links on my site under health nutrition mostly I think.

I'm back after a 2 week holiday, raring to go!
I created a new page for water purification systems today. I think that visitors to my site will be interested in other drug free non-invasive ways of maintaining health like water filtration:

I guess the rest of the world was on holidays too. 2207 visits came from other websites linking to me, but although the absolute number was up that was more because I have more links. Numbers of visitors from any particular website were way down and most links only gave me one visit. Still, I got quite a few new wholesale customers from it so no complaints.
